Statement made by Sri Narendra Modi ji the Prime Ministerial Candidate of BJP and his commitment to conserve mother Ganga like Sabarmati is highly appreciable. It was really pleasant to see a politician speaking about Ganga, a non-political subject, before going to file his nomination. I appreciate it and hope that there is something good to restore the religious, cultural and ecological status of pristine river Ganga. On the Modi's view that the Ganga will be cleaned like Sabarmati, I am of the opinion that the ecosystems of Ganga and Sabarmati are quite different, hence a detailed study on the ecological behaviour of river Ganga and river Sabarmati is needed before the implementation of any programme to conserve mother Ganga.
