An eminent environmentalist and river expert Prof. B.D. Tripathi of the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi was honored by Hon'ble Home Minister Sri Rajnath Singh on occasion of "Vidwad Alankaran Samaroh of Akhil Bhartiya Vidwat Parishad" on 1st November 2015 in Varanasi.
Prof. B.D. Tripathi pioneered Ganga water pollution researches in 1972 & recognised as the founder expert member of the National Ganga River Basin Authority, Govt. of India constituted under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Prime Minister. He is also the recipient of Ganga Bhakt Puraskar (2007)
